About this work
A printed 1898 election poster for the legislative elections of 8 May in the second arrondissement, presenting the candidates Marius Rety and Léon Hayard. The sheet combines dense French campaign text with bold display lettering and two framed sketched portraits of the men, one in a bowler hat with a pipe and one in a wide-brimmed hat with a cigarette.
