About this work

A vintage poster for the Automobile Club de France announces the 2nd International Automobile Exhibition in the Jardin des Tuileries from 15 June to 9 July, dated 1899. A winged female figure in a draped gown rests a hammer on an anvil, with automobile wheels and an engine at the base and a triumphal arch in the distance. The anonymous design uses orange tones and a laurel-leaf border.
